Marla Godette earned a Bachelor’s degree from The University of Michigan where she took on a tri-fold concentration and studied Anthropology, Sociology, and Psychology. She went on to earn her Master’s degree in Counseling from Central Michigan University. Marla is currently embracing her passions of working with and learning from people of all ethnicities, cultures, and backgrounds by pursuing her Doctorate degree in Global Leadership through Indiana Tech in Fort Wayne, IN.
Marla is an entrepreneur who provides services to individuals, families, and organizations by using her education and skills as a professional counselor, certified Life Purpose coach, certified Global Diversity Leader, public speaker and business consultant. Marla is also an adjunct professor, an international conference speaker and presenter, and has become a sought after keynote speaker for major events. For Marla work is fun, so much of her time spent working turns into extremely fun things like world travel, making new acquaintances, and creating new opportunities to serve humanity.
Marla is known for her coined phrase, “Know thyself and do no harm” and she has a passion for the stigma associated with mental illness to be destroyed worldwide. Because of this, Marla spends time working with youth worldwide to engage in mental health awareness events and learning opportunities to assist in creating culturally humble trainings that will address mental health while respecting the cultural views of others.
Though Marla seems fairly busy, if you want to catch her during some leisure time, she has a dedicated “date night” with her husband every Friday and she and her youngest son never miss a new Marvel movie!
